Authorities have detained two main suspects, both minors aged 13 and 15, and are continuing investigations to clarify all circumstances surrounding the crime.
Three Suspects Under Investigation
Prosecutors questioned three individuals in connection with the killing. Two of them are minors, while a third suspect is a 21 year old young man. The youngest suspect, aged 13, was taken to the Child Neuropsychiatry Unit in Timișoara for psychiatric evaluation.
“Two of the three suspects are being questioned, and the youngest, aged 13, is undergoing psychiatric evaluation at the Child Neuropsychiatry Unit,” the press office of the Timiș County Police Inspectorate told Agerpres.

Suspects Attended School After the Crime
Local authorities say the behavior of the suspects following the incident has shocked the community even further. According to officials, the teenagers went to school in the days after the killing as if nothing had happened.
The mayor of Cenei, Sîrgean Tanasin, stated that there were previous concerns about the group involved.
“There are rumors that they used drugs. We do not know for sure yet, but a friend of theirs told me that the conflict may have started because of drugs,” the mayor told Radio Reșița.
He also emphasized that there is currently no information suggesting that the parents of the suspects were involved in the crime.

How the Crime Was Discovered
The victim, identified as Alin Mario Berinde, was reported missing after leaving home on Monday, January 18, riding his scooter and never returning. His mother alerted the police the following day, January 19.
Officers launched an extensive search in Cenei, checking areas the teenager was known to frequent. During the investigation, police found his scooter and boots hidden in a bush. Further searches revealed blood traces on a street and inside a yard in the commune.
These findings led investigators to the tragic discovery of the boy’s body, which had been buried in the yard of the 13 year old suspect.
