It’s a common stereotype that cats and dogs are natural enemies—after all, the phrase “fighting like cats and dogs” exists for a reason. But many pet lovers successfully raise both under one roof, and they often get along just fine. In fact, one heartwarming video proves they can become much more than just tolerant housemates—they can truly love each other.
Lisa Olsen Plummer has a beagle named Bo and a cat named Jasper. When she first brought Bo home, she wasn’t sure how the two would interact. They didn’t fight, but things were a bit awkward at the start.
“Jasper was very cautious around Bo in the beginning,” Lisa told The Dodo. “He kept his distance and just watched him.”
Over time, though, they began to warm up to each other. Bo started inviting Jasper to play, and before long, they became close companions—even if their playtime can get a little rough. “They play hard and tease each other,” Lisa said. “Sometimes it turns into a bit of a scuffle, and I have to separate them like kids.”
It might look like fighting at times, but one special moment erased any doubt about their bond. One day, after their usual energetic chasing, Bo and Jasper sat quietly by the window, watching birds together. Then, in a touching gesture, Bo gently placed his paw on Jasper’s shoulder.
It was a simple moment—but one that showed just how deep their friendship truly is.
