Elizabeth Laird made headlines as the ‘The Hug Lady.’ For the past 12 years, the 83-year-old woman has been giving each soldier a hug in the airport before they leave for battle. What no one seemed to know is that Elizabeth was fighting a battle of her own against breast cancer. And she has been doing so for the past 11 years. However, despite her battle, she made it a goal to send off and welcome home our troops. Now, that she in in the hospital desperately needing some support, soldiers are returning the favor.
