However, it’s critical that you know how to use them right. You see, unlike most other pans, cast iron skillets need to be seasoned before you can cook in them. Now, this is the part that makes many people be intimidated of using a cast iron skillet to cook.
However, it’s really not rocket science. There are some steps you have to follow to get the best results, though. For starters, you have to get all the gunk off your pan, then let it dry thoroughly. Next you have to cover the entire pan with canola oil and remove the excess using a simple kitchen napkin.
The next step is to put it in the oven and let it bake for about an hour at maximum temperature. This is an important step as it will keep your skillet non-stick. Here are all the steps once more:
