Heartwarming footage of baby elephants enjoying a mud bath in Kenya goes viral

Just like little kids, baby animals are constantly seeking for adventures. All they can’t wait is half a reason to have fun, regardless the place, and mostly regardless the circumstances. So when a bunch of playful baby elephants came across a mud paddle, you can only imagine what happened next!

In an absolutely heartwarming video, a group of three baby elephants are having the time of their lives while mud bathing. The sweet moment was caught on camera, and animal lovers all over the world have simply fallen in loved with those little fellas’ routine. Responsible for the adorable video is Sheldrick Wildlife Trust – an elephant orphanage in Kenya.

Though the short footage is nothing but funny and heartwarming, each and every of its little characters is hiding a very sad story. But in the end all these tiny elephants are great fighters, and they fully deserve moments like this, after all they have been through during their lives.

“Each elephant has their own distinctive bathing style and little mud monster Olorien’s can best be described as ‘flop and flail,’ the orphanage wrote in a tweet. “She’s an orphan who beat the odds to survive.”

Founded in 1977 by Dame Daphne Sheldrick, in the memory of her late husband David Sheldrick, this orphanage helped hundreds of animals (mostly elephants) to get their second chance. But most importantly, these little heaven on Earth, has managed to save and rehabilitate so many orphan elephants, all thanks to a nearly perfect milk formula – that almost mimics a mother elephant’s milk.
