This is the emotional moment a completely deaf dog, invented her own way of barking. Reggie is a very sweet rescue dog, but unfortunately she lives in a completely different world as she was born deaf. However, she’s extremely clever, though!
Since the adorable dog was born deaf, she never heard how a barking sounds like, but she had definitely seen other dogs doing it, or at least the movement associated with it. She also learned that this movement is a great way to have the attention of your human, so Reggie thought to give it a try to. Surprisingly her efforts paid off and she not only got some treats but she also melted her mom’s heart.
Taken by surprise, Reggie’s mom, Lindsay Kelly said she need a few moments to realize what’s going on. “I thought it was a sneeze or cough at first,” the woman explained for The Dodo. “But when she continued doing it and looking at me as she did, I realized she was trying to communicate.”
Needless to say when Reggie learned that her way to “communicate” always brings her what she wants, she turned it into her routine. So, from that moment on, she’s keep doing it and apparently her parents are always impressed.
“She’s usually able to get whatever she wants even with her barks,” Kelly said. “She usually does it when she’s trying to [get] our attention somehow and she’s so proud of herself when she does it.”
