Grandmother’s poem about aging is honest and may just bring a tear to your eye

Why not be upfront about this? Deep down, whether we like to admit it or not, we’re all afraid of getting older. We’re all afraid of looking in the mirror one day and not recognizing the reflection starring back at us. We’re all afraid of losing our energy, our vitality, our looks, our youth.
The problem is that aging is inevitable, and we all know it. Maybe that’s what makes everything so frightening- the fact that it’s beyond our control.
What most of us fail to realize, though, is the fact that although the exterior of who we are changes over time, and we have no control of that, there’s something far more important than that. How we look on the inside – now that’s something we should spend more time thinking about.
The woman in the video below said it best: The way we look is just the wrapping. The true gift, the real jewel, is on the inside. That’s what we should take care of. The people who truly love us will love us regardless of the “wrapping,” because they know the wrapping is fragile and really not that important.

This is an amazing life lesson that everybody should learn!
