It is always heartwarming to see youngsters showing affection to animals, and the way this girl treated a stray dog is definitely restoring our faith in humanity. The beautiful act of kindness was caught on camera by a woman who accidentally witnessed the scene!
It was a rainy day and Mayane Rodrigues was looking through the window of her apartment in Brazil, when spotted the sweetest scene she had ever seen. She initially saw a young girl across the street making her way back home from the school. The girl was having an umbrella, but all of a sudden she put it down, then removed her backpack and took off her jacket. Rodrigues had no idea why she had done that, but she soon figured out!
Within seconds, the woman noticed a tiny puppy on the side of the road, right next to the girl’s feet, and the she knew the girl’s beautiful act of companion was for her. As it turned out, the caring girl grabbed the helpless puppy into her arms and continued her way back home.
“It all happened so quickly. It was very emotional,” the woman told The Dodo. “I sent the video to a friend who, shared it to a neighborhood group, and then I found out who the angel was.”

The girl is named Cibley Stiegelmair and she proved that you don’t have to be too big to be a hero, because despite being only 12-year-old, Cibley already knows how to spread kindness to the world. As it turned out, the tiny puppy was injured, so the young girl brought her home and took care of her.
“I was startled when she arrived with the puppy because she was very sweaty and wet from the rain,” Rejane Stiegelmair, the girl’s mom, told The Dodo. “I thought she had been hurt, but she told me she found the puppy injured.”
Cibley has always been kind to animals, but now she made her parents even prouder. As about the puppy she rescued, she only had some minor injuries, therefore some extra love was enough to heal her.
“My daughter has a very good heart. She feels very sorry for stray dogs,” the proud mom said. “If she could bring them all home, she would.”
It is unclear how the puppy ended up on the side of the road, but one thing is certain – her future looks far brighter than her past – because Cibley’s family adopted her. Now, the puppy named Pretinha lives happily with the girl that offered her a second chance.
