Orphaned pony finds comfort in teddy bear and warms everyone’s heart

I’ve seen a lot of odd friendships since I’ve started writing these post, but this might be the cutest one yet. The Internet has fallen deeply in love with an orphaned pony whose best friend is a stuffed teddy bear. To make things even cuter, the bear’s name is Breeze. Apparently, the tiny horse was feeling lonely and needed something to replace the comforting touch of his mom. The stuffed teddy bear he was given turned out to be perfect for the ‘job’!

The Mare and Foal Sanctuary

Sadly, this cute little thing was rejected by his own mother, shortly after birth. But, he was find just in time by a concerned farmer, who alerted the Mare and Foal Sanctuary, in the UK. By the time the helps arrived, the poor little thing was very confused and scared, but soon as they have taken him at the sanctuary, his condition started to improve.

“Sadly, little Breeze has not got his mum around to keep him company,” Syra Bowden, executive director at the sanctuary said. “It’s been wonderful to see him interacting with his new teddies and cuddling up to them when he goes to sleep. They are great company for him and provide comfort during the brief periods when his carers are not present.”

To make them feel more comfortable, the volunteers at the sanctuary frequently give staffed toys to orphaned baby animals. However, they have been all surprised by the interest Breeze has been showed into the giant teddy bear he got.

The Mare and Foal Sanctuary

“A one-week-old foal sleeps soundly in the lap of its new surrogate mum – a jumbo TEDDY BEAR,” the sanctuary wrote. “Breeze the bay pony was found abandoned on Dartmoor National Park just a few hours after his birth. Unable to find his mother, the tiny foundling was stumbling hopelessly around the hillside trying to suckle mares. By the time rescuers from a local equine sanctuary had arrived to help, Breeze had collapsed in a state of severe shock and dehydration.”
