I’ve seen this happen over and over again: people adopt a pet because the puppy/kitten was cute or simply do it on a whim, and after a while they get bored with it or the pet starts misbehaving so the owners dispose of them like animals were things. Remember that adopting a pet is not a temporary thing. Welcoming a new life into the family is the most precious gift you can give yourself, but make sure you do it wisely and with full responsibility. Because animals depend on us in the same way a child would. And you wouldn’t abandon a child, would you?
